Mud Bath

I ran across this and thought it might be fun to share. This was about 2 years ago. My how they've grown! Notice how well I enforce the rules....NOT!

Knee update

The new knee came home on Thursday afternoon and it's been a roller coaster ride the last few days. The first couple of days were good and no real problems. As you can see it doesn't look too bad. OH! and by the way have you ever wondered what the Jolly Green Giant's toes look like?? Well, wonder no more...
No, worries! It's just an anti-bacterial wash they used on his leg before the surgery. Anyway, back to the saga...Saturday after doing some of the daily required exercises the leg began to get stiff and very painful along with major discoloration of the whole area. I called both the surgeon and the nurse at home health care and neither said it was anything to be concerned about. "Only if the knee became the size of a cantaloupe should we be concerned" Mmmmmmmmmmmm, it was the size of a cantaloupe before surgery so what's the next melon up? Watermelon size? ...these photos are of the knee in it's badness. If you have a weak stomach for bruising don't scroll. But it is quite tasty.

Just kidding! No way does his leg look this yummy...That is one fine turkey leg!!

Actually, today everything looks a little better and the stiffness is somewhat better too. Tomorrow the physical therapist will be here along with a visit from a home health nurse. So things are coming around and he should be dancing a jig in no time. (he couldn't before the surgery, so that will be some feat/feet?!)

And in case you haven't guess Roxie and Augie are glad Daddy's home.

They are resting much easier now.

Friday Favs

Well one of the things I really like to do is shop flea markets, garage sales or thrift stores. The next best thing when I don't want to get out in this horrid heat is shopping online through Craigslist.com. It really cracks me up some of the things people sell and some of the photos that are posted for all to see. I thought today I'd share with you some interesting ones I've seen recently....

This person who is selling these has way too much time on her hands. She offers these as Diaper Wreaths...isn't that just what every new Mother wants??

Of course you can buy just about anything on Craigslist including animals....need a chicken or a pony??

Or how about some new (well maybe not so new) bath fixtures??

Or a not so new iron??

Some bricks?

Or an Exit sign?

Or a matchbook collection? (Shhhhh...I know someone that might want that!)

And what's a sale without these? For the love of Pete it's BEANIE BABIES!!

Or maybe just a bunch of JUNK?? You can never have too much of that...

Now these items are in the category of just striking me funny. This first one is offering "Red bridesmaids dresses in a variety of sizes".... Check these out, I'm sure she has your size if you're interested.

Here's another Mardi Grias beads....for King Kong

I alway enjoy when the seller puts themselves or a loved one in the photo with the item...

And HOLY COW this one really cracks me up!

Well there you have it another Friday Favorite. Hope you enjoyed the sneak peek at Craigslist. Check it out for yourself sometime. HUGS!

Where's Daddy??

Have you ever seen anything so sad??? They look at me and I'm sure they are saying "Where's Daddy?" Well they will be running laps tomorrow when Daddy comes home from the hospital! Just hope they don't trip him! They keep wandering around the house, looking for him and then look at me with those sad eyes asking "where is he?" I know he'll be glad to see them and they will be tail wagging happy tomorrow!!

Leg Up!

My Dad often asked my Mother "Is there anything your daughter won't talk about?" at first I was put off by this remark but now I know I was just "Keeping it Real". My lovely daughter thinks my blog sounds somewhat gangsterish with this title but I've decided to keep it....for now. Until I decide to start writing fiction and then it won't be "Keeping it Real".

Anyhoo today's blog is about my precious soul mate. Yesterday he had a complete knee replacement. This is him before surgery...

He went into surgery about 1pm and we didn't hear from the doctor until almost 4pm. Ladybug and Jaybird kept me company in the waiting room. Here are some nice photos from that long waiting period.

Nice fish tank for entertainment...

Very interesting couple across the room from us.....seem to be doing something baboon-ish???

Then is wasn't anytime(Just about 4 hours or more!)
until honey bun was in a room
and all tucked in safe & sound.

#1 Son showed up, so all three of our kidlings were there. When they all get together it turns into a joke fest & we soon overwhelmed poor ole Dad.

We all said our goodbyes and wished him a good night and from the reports I've received today he had a very restful night and has already been up on his new knee. The doctor says he will be home by Thursday so everything is going as well as can be. Keep him in your prayers for a fast and pain free recovery. Many thanks!!

Friday Favs

In celebration of the last day of the week I think Favorites are in order on Friday! Here is one of mine... Pedicures! Had one today instead of lunch. Can't beat them, most relaxing and pampered feeling ever. If I could just convince my Soulmate how important they really are!

First day of the rest of my blog....

Well my daughter (aka LB or Ladybug) thinks she's my inspiration for this blog, but little does she know that she's my inspiration for much, much more than this. I had a blog for updating family and friend of Dad's life when he lived with us, but that is history now and I've moved on dabbling at learning more about this and now finally putting it all together. It seems like harmless fun and I've grown fond of reading blogs of others so why not give it a whirl.... I'll probably start out the next few days with the goings on in my life right now "just trying to keep it real" so stop in from time to time and share some of your real life with me too. Looking forward to the ride. Hugs!
